The 2nd and last Networking Cocktail event for 2013 for all members, invited guests and non-members from the construction industry was held at No. 8 Stanley Road, a contemporary pub/bar/café.

All current members of SCL (S) were also invited to this complimentary event with free flow of juices, beer, wine and house pour with a good spread of fine finger food.

The attendees numbering more than 50 relaxed and mingled among themselves in the informal settings of the event.

This event was also graced by members of The Singapore Contractors Association Ltd, Singapore Institute of Surveyors & Valuers, The Chartered Institute of Building (Singapore Centre), Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society of Singapore as well as QC Mark Wheeler (Council member from SCL(UK)). The event had a record turnout this year of around 50 attended, a testament to the healthy relationship between SCL(S)’s members and other guests of the construction industry including MOU partners.

Other than a warm welcome and appreciation speech by the Chairman, Anil Changaroth, followed by a quick discussion of the SCL(S)’s upcoming “new look” social calendar by the Chair of Social and Outreach Committee, Sunny Sim; and short excerpts of next year’s professional development program by the Chair of the Professional Development Committee, Moon Kua; attendees spent most of the evening catching up, making introductions, and enjoying good food, beer and wine. The great service at this laid back venue certainly facilitated the friendly networking. Indeed, the evening continued long after its planned conclusion.

Next year’s events are now even more highly anticipated by both members and non-members from the construction industry.
