On the occasion of its Annual Dinner on 30 August 2017, the SCL (S) decided on the resplendent venue that is VLV at Clarke Quay – what a fabulous choice indeed!

First and foremost, with my SCL (S) Council hat on, may I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to HKA Global, our generous sponsor for the evening and indeed, everyone at the Secretariat, as always, ably led by June.

What struck me as a massive boost for the ever-growing SCL (S) was the turnout – we not only had a sold-out evening, we even had every single one of our past and present Chairs turn up! To cap it all, there was an insightful after-dinner-speech, “A Construction Lawyer’s Guide to Defamation”, by Jon Howes, the present President of The Lighthouse Club!

A sumptuous meal courtesy of a “masterful menu of modern Chinese cuisine by an award-winning culinary team” no doubt aided by what seemed like an infinite supply of beer, white and red wines – a lovely night was had!
